All are Welcome!

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

Jesus told his followers, "I am with you, even unto the end of the age."

Due to the covid-19 restrictions, we have discontinued worship service at our church building until further notice.

We have a teleconference service on Sunday mornings at 11:00am.

Church of the Cross is now using Zoom for its teleconferencing. The new number to join the teleconference 1-669-900-9128. Then enter 875 9898 7747. If prompted, use the password "worship". Please remember to mute your phone except for the responses and the prayers.  If you would like to join the video teleconference, the link is on the bulletin. The bulletin for the 2nd Sunday in Easter, April 11th service is on the Worship page sidebar. Click on the icon. The meeting will stay open until 12:15pm, so you are welcome to stay on the line and socialize after worship. (Please note that this is a long distance call, so we recommend using a cell phone if you can.) The service includes a familiar hymn, prayers, scripture, and a reflection on the scripture by Pr. Dee.

Drive-thru communion is on April 28th, the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6-7 PM.

Bring your own bread, cracker, or wafer and a small cup of grape juice (if you choose). Drive through the Government Alley behind the Church entering on the 44th street side and continue to the parking lot. Pastor Dee Emmert will meet you there. Pastor Dee will bless the bread and will then give you a Blessing.
Remember to observe proper traffic etiquette and things should run smoothly and efficiently. Don't forget to wear your mask!

Bible Study resumes Monday April 5th at 5 PM.

Our Lenten Bible Study will focus on the Book of Acts. We will be continuing the study that we began last year, using the study guide--Books of Faith Series, Acts. You may already have this book at home if you were part of last year's bible study group. If you have it, and won't be joining us, let Pastor Dee know. We'll figure out a way to pass the book on. Please contact Pastor Dee for the Zoom link if you would like to join us.    We will be pausing our study of Women of the Bible until after Easter.

During this time of extreme need, Church of the Cross is making monthly donations to these organizations until further notice:

WIND Youth   https://www.windyouth.org/donate/

River City Food Bank   https://rivercityfoodbank.org/

You can use these links to make a personal donation. You can also give to the Cross mission fund directly through our wesite.

Sadly, Church of the Cross lost two long time members recently-RuthAnn Hines and Sally Tait.

Cross will be sending flowers to RuthAnn's family service on Wednesday, and will be making a donation in her honor to St. John's where she volunteered tirelessly for many years. As of now, no plans have been made for Sally. If you would like to donate to the Church of the Cross Memorial fund in honor of RuthAnn Hines or Sally Tait (or both) you can give through our website Make An Offering page or mail a check to Julie Andrews.

This is a time for reflection. Please use some of your time during this quarantine to prayer, read the Bible, and reflect on God's presence even in the midst of crisis.

Pr. Dee is available by phone at 330-858-1760 and by email at dee.e.emmert@gmail.com.
