Sunday 0ct. 18 - the Worship Service will be led by Kevin Brown. Her message is her final for her current Preaching Class as a student of the Synodically Authorized Minister (SAM) Program. She will want all attendees to give their feedback based on a Questionnaire found in your bulletin. So if you can make it into church, that would be appreciated.

Sunday October 25 -  will be our Reformation Sunday Service.

Sunday Nov 1-There will be a Special Congregational Meeting afterwards regarding hiring an interim lay minister.

It will be broadcast on Zoom as well and we will have instructions as to how to vote online.

For those who will be in person, please plan to bring snacks to share.

The Council has voted to change our Fellowship Coffee Hour to the First and Third Sundays (instead of 1st and 4th). This will allow a little breathing space between Sundays.

Global Refuge has mailed out a link to its 2025 Annual report. It documents the policy changes that the organization has had to adapt to, and it's financial expenditures for its many programs. If you didn't receive it in the mail, here is a link to the report, which is a PDF download.

Locally, Church of the Cross has been supporting NorCal Resist, a mutual aid organization helping the Sacramento immigrant community. Cross has held food drives, and this year received a grant from LDSS for NorCal Resist to help pruchase diapers and hygiene products.  Giselle Garcia, their executive director, sent us this receipt for all the goods they purchsed with the grant.

You can also help NorCal Resist fund DACA fees, rent assistance for ICE-impacted families, and so much more by becoming a one time or monthly sustainer to NorCal Resist.
